The Swedish Times is progressing and we are looking for passionate individuals!foto:
It is time to reflect and present the project: The Swedish times. The project began at the end of 2019 when a young visionary was cruelly denied an opportunity due to the present media monopoly in Sweden. This visionary was a student, and together with another visionary, they approached a third visionary who decided to sponsor the project.
Two years have passed, and the road to 2021 has been quite bumpy due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, one target has remained across the length of the project. That is to provide news and information to anyone in Sweden for free without influences from any external party that could potentially limit or control the information flow.
We decided to resume the project fully a month ago. Since then, the team has been working on establishing The Swedish Times as a credible and reliable news platform targeting English-speaking people in Sweden, while targeting people with a keen interest in technology. For the last few weeks, Sweden has been undergoing a government crisis, and we decided then to escalate our small project.
Altogether, it has been a quite challenging couple of weeks, where we had to do all the groundwork to figure out a sustainable business approach, main challenges, platform reach, potential revenue sources to keep the system rolling, and most importantly find content writers.
The Swedish Times needs a sturdy marketing plan to realize the platform’s full potential. Not only do we need to differentiate ourselves, but we also need to contemplate the Swedish media landscape and the media ownership and concentration. That, to fully be able to develop a sustainable strategy that adheres to the market’s demand.
We believe that The Swedish Times will play a crucial role in the future media landscape, as we aim to encourage dialogue, inspire, and inform. To do that, we need a solid team of content writers, journalists, that promotes transparency and diversity without influences from large corporations.
People are the backbone of The Swedish Times and will be essential for the platform’s future. We only have one rule, and that is to tell the harsh truth without filters.
The team believes that news should be available for everyone, leaving no one left behind. Therefore, The Swedish Times will aim to provide news stories within different domains, lift inspiring stories and promote a positive online community that helps writers at the beginning of their careers.
Social media will consequently have a key role in our digital marketing strategy. It is becoming more apparent that people choose social media platforms over traditional media sources when hunting for information and inspiration.
Do you feel like writing? Take a chance and join the team, and we might as well create history together!
